Down to Earth Garden will be holding part 1 of 3 bokashi workshops on 9/21/25 Sun 11am – 2 pm, as part of the LUNGS Harvest Arts Festival. We will make bokashi bran (bokashi sprinkle), Activated EM (bokashi spray), and EM•5 (a soil and foliar spray).

4pm The Beyond Flute Group has been playing acoustic chamber jazz since 2013 and music at the 6BC Botanical garden since 2017. We are an acoustic, free jazz, experimental group, mostly flutes, playing in the moment music. Composing in the moment from our life experience in music, and listening to create through composed pieces of new jazz explorations from the heart, each player a chance to voice their individual ideas in unaccompanied solos.
“Howling for Jeremy Steig” Solo Flute Festival is a special iteration of Beyond Flute Group’s 3rd Sunday Jazz and their final performance of the season.

Michael Eaton (b. 1981) is a Brooklyn based saxophonist, composer, and educator active in contemporary jazz and free improvisation.
Dan Wick has been an integral member of the improvised music scenes in Chicago and Boston. On keyboard and laptop electronics, he has appeared with musicians such as Forbes Graham, Brittany Karlson, and Nick Joliat.

6pm Grace Bergere
Grace Bergere grew up in NYC’s Downtown Manhattan. Her heavy atmospheric sound only adds to the impact of her carefully crafted, lyric driven songs. Her work has been compared to that of Elliott Smith and P.J. Harvey’s. Her debut album A Little Blood was released on Eugene Hutz’s (Gogol Bordello) Casa Gogol Records last year. Casa Gogol also recently released Grace’s cover of All Tomorrow’s Parties featuring Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore. She just returned from her second west coast tour supporting Gogol Bordello. She has also shared bills with artists such as Shilpa Ray, Jon Spencer, Kaizers Orchestra and most recently opened for the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s at The Beacon Theater in NYC in July of this year.

JOHN KING, composer, guitarist and violist, has received commissions from the Kronos Quartet; Ethel; the Albany Symphony/“Dogs of Desire”, Bang On A Can All-Stars; Mannheim Ballet; New York City Ballet/Diamond Project, Stuttgart Ballet, Ballets de Monte Carlo; as well as the Merce Cunningham Dance Co.
8pm Villa Delirium
The New York based Villa Delirium is a five piece ensemble, whose uniquely ethereal sound has created a new Gothic folk music. Inspired by eerie traditional folk songs of Germany, Ireland, the Balkans and murder ballads of the American South, Villa Delirium writes and performs their own startling compositions. From the tongue in cheek country waltz “Bar in Heaven” to the hellfire rock’n’roll of “Turnin’ Up the Burners at Satan’s Steakhouse” to the wistfully nostalgic “Linden Trees”, Villa Delirium’s songs and truly unique instrumentation make for a deliciously
macabre experience.

6PM Roisin McKeown is carving out a name for herself as a singer-songwriter with a deep sense of purpose. Born in Lower Manhattan and raised in Dublin, her music blends jazz, soul, and folk, shaped by both cities. Her name honours her mother, a singer-songwriter, and her grandmother, an organist and composer. This lineage fuels her artistry, making her work both personal and universal.
7PM VIVI HU Music Under One Sky” is a one-hour concert that includes songs about moon, stars and love with a blend of influences from jazz, R&B, soul, and Mandarin pop in both Mandarin and English.
8pm Mitchell Cheng Trio
Mitchell Cheng is a Taiwanese-American pianist and composer based in New York City. He is first and foremost an improviser, and cherishes the surprise and wonder that can occur from a spontaneous musical idea that is expressed in real time. The Trio features Mitchell on Fender Rhodes & Everton Isadoro, Percussion & Adrian Morning, Bass. They play original songs interlaced with jazz and rock classics.

A staged reading
The basis for the play is the Epistle of the Animals, composed by the Brethren of Purity, a Muslim Sufi order based in Basra, in present day Iraq, in the 10th century. It was part of a much larger encyclopedic work that the Brethren of Purity wrote. A complete English translation of this fable was only done in 2009.

Bradford Reed (pencilina) and Anni Rossi (hybrid viola-tar) turn their self-built instruments into a raw collision of groove, noise, and song. Reed, a Brooklyn composer and longtime member of King Missile III, has performed worldwide with his idiosyncratic creation, played in Blue Man Group’s original band, and currently performs with The Dirt Whisperers, Grains of Euphora, and Order of the Illusive. Rossi, a Queens-based songwriter, performer, and clown with releases on 4AD, moves between balladry, punk, folk, pop, and soul with what BBC 6’s Marc Riley called “classic and cutting edge.” Together, they weave an experience that’s part avant-folk ritual, part chamber-punk séance, and part ecstatic improvisation. Their music can shift in an instant—from whispering strings to thunderous, body-shaking noise—holding audiences in a space that feels both ancient and futuristic.

Undiscovered Countries is a New York City based peer incubator for new and developing multidisciplinary art, founded in 2012 with the goal of reducing the economic stakes of self producing for artists in our community and beyond. Among other programming, they have been producing an Infinite Festival regularly for the last twelve years; it is a free variety show of new works in development across disciplines, typically around 10 acts of 3–15 minutes presenting a mix of live theater, drag, comedy, puppetry, clowning, music and other performance mediums.
