A biopic of the Australian fisherman, photographer and physicist, Richard Freeman, and his fascinating, theoretical, Natural Model of the Universe. In this film, Mr. Freeman showcases scientific facts that prove out his new model, all while detailing his life as a fisherman for over 40 years on Australia’s Sunshine Coast.

A documentary shot in 2017 in Washington, DC at Trump’s Inauguration, Saturday, January 20, followed by The Women’s March, Sunday, January 21. “The Deplorables and Despicables” is a mashup, a shout out, a hootenanny, a hymn, a hip hop poem to a country in need of inspiration. It’s a primer for the voting public. It’s a cautionary tale of the future we are now living.

This lovely film retraces the history of the Centre Tyabala de Guinée and l’école fula flute through the eyes of its students and teachers. The director artfully weaves the story of children growing into accomplished artists through a decade’s worth of clips and interviews.

MM Serra is an experimental filmmaker, curator and was the Executive Director of Film-Makers’ Cooperative until March 2023. Serra has created over 32 short documentary films that have screened at festivals including Sundance, The New York Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival and at the Louvre, Paris. She was awarded the Emily Harvey Foundation Venice Residency in 2023. On May 27, at the Millennium Film Workshop she had a retrospective of her films curated by Erica Schreiner. March 16, 2024, the Society of Cinema and Media Studies hosted a panel discussion on MM Serra’s films and her years as Executive Director of the FMC. In 2024, she was awarded a New York State Council on the Arts Individual Arts grant to create a film on community gardens.
